"So in the KMAN event later, there are various agendas carried out, such as the revival of the indigenous peoples of Jayapura Regency for the 9th year and the activities of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), so they have prepared an area of 8 hectares to plant corn to welcome the arrival of the community. President," he explained.
He said that the construction of the land was also a form of support by indigenous peoples for the successful implementation of the IV KMAN in Jayapura Regency.
"With what they have done, they can show that food security in Papua is still in the hands of indigenous peoples," he said.
Corn land provided by the indigenous peoples of Doyo and Toware in Toware Village, Waibu District, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province. Jayapura Regent Mathius Awoitauw said in order to welcome President Jokowi's presence in the implementation of the VI KMAN on October 24, 2022, the Indigenous Peoples in Toware and Doyo Villages provided 80 hectares of corn land and a number of tilapia fish cages.
According to him, in addition to 80 hectares of corn land, indigenous peoples also provide a number of tilapia fish cages.
"This provision is so that when the President comes, he will not only harvest corn, but can harvest fish and sow seeds in traditional community cages, as well as see sago hamlets in Toware and Doyo villages," he concluded.
