DPR Urges Apparatus to Take Firm Action on KKB

Member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Dave Laksono, urged the Cartenz Peace Task Force and the TNI to take firm action against the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) that was responsible for the massacre of 10 civilians in Nduga, Papua, last Saturday, July 16, 2022. donors who finance the KKB.

"The legal process and the pursuit of those who finance and continue to spread hatred and create racial issues until migrants are brutally murdered," he said, Monday, July 18, 2022.

According to him, the massacre deserves to be called an act of barbarity that cannot be tolerated, and must be investigated thoroughly with firm action. Because all this time, KKB has always been hiding behind the general public.

"This savagery must be eradicated, Indonesia is a country that has all kinds of diversity and there is no place for such atrocities. There needs to be a firm attitude from the security forces towards those who always hide among the general public after attacking innocent people," he said.

Dave admits that the KKB movement will continue as long as there is still inequality in economic access and development cakes in Papua. Although the government has made various efforts to overcome these inequalities and one of them is through the formation of a new autonomous region (DOB) in Papua.

"Papua is the province with the highest poor people, the literacy rate is still very low, equitable distribution of development is still limited in big cities. As long as this continues, conflicts will continue," said Dave.
