The East Java Alumni Association or Ikal Jatim in Papua held a Working Meeting (Raker) at the Aston Niu Hotel Manokwari, West Papua, Friday 15 July 2022.
This working meeting was attended by the Acting Governor of West Papua, Komjen Pol (Ret.) Drs. Paulus Waterpauw, M.Si at the same time opened a meeting aimed at increasing the existence of East Java alumni with dimensions of independence, professionalism and local wisdom.
In his speech, Waterpauw hoped that the East Java Ikal working meeting in Papua could produce programs that could touch the community or the people, especially in helping and providing input for the progress of Papua and West Papua.
"The program but if it doesn't touch the people (popular) the results of its work meeting, it's the same as nonsense, (like) other exercises playing other games, mostly like that," said Waterpauw in front of all Ikal East Java administrators and alumni.
Waterpauw also hopes that the discussions during the East Java Ikal working meeting will contribute to the West Papua Government, and always create strong equality and unity to build this land.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of West Papua Ikal East Java, Yohanis Momot ST. MT said the East Java Alumni Association in Papua is an inseparable part of society.
Where, Ikal Jatim has a very strategic role in accelerating and optimizing all of his potential in order to improve people's lives and welfare.
"East Java alumni in Tanah Abang have a moral responsibility to make the entire development process successful within the framework of special autonomy in Papua," said Yohanis, who also serves as Acting PUPR for West Papua.
Therefore, continued Yohanis, East Java Ikal needs to be given the right and adequate space to be able to be creative, innovate and work for the progress of society, nation and state in the territory of Papua.
"The East Java Alumni Association and the name Papua as a unifying forum and glue in the midst of society, have duties and responsibilities in filling development, are obliged to manage their potential well so they are able to be creative and innovate," he said.
He also emphasized that the East Java Alumni Association in Papua fully supports the Central Government's plan to exchange several provinces in Papua as a form of accelerated and equitable development on Papuan land.
