Efforts to encourage the development of villages that are the domiciles of the Mimika natives are continuously being carried out by the Amungme and Kamoro Community Empowerment Foundation (YPMAK). Papua, Monday (20/6/2022).
On that occasion, the Director of YPMAK, Vebian Magal, asked the Village Program to be managed professionally, so that the benefits were right on target for the interests of the residents in the village.
The YPMAK Highland Village Program targets 8 villages, namely Agimuga, Tsinga, Aroanop, Hoya, Dumadama, Jila, Wa Banti and Alama. In the future it will be expanded to 10 villages.
"We manage the village program professionally, responsibly and follow existing rules, so that the benefits are right on target for the residents," he said.
Furthermore, Vebian Magal explained, the latest phase of the Kampung Higland Program is in the disbursement phase of the second phase of the 2021 program.
He admitted that the first phase of the Kampung Program seemed to be being chased by time, causing assistance not to be carried out optimally, so that it was hampered by reporting or administrative documents from the Village Working Group (Pokja) personnel.
However, Vebian emphasized that the success of the program lies in the performance of the Pokja team, not on the foundation or the banking sector, especially in making program reports according to the terms and conditions based on the work agreement.
“The success of this program lies with the Pokja team, not YPMAK or BRI. Here we need to support and encourage each other, we at YPMAK are ready to support the Pokja team in Highland from Duma-dama to Alama. So that the funds that have been sent to the community can be used according to their intended purpose,” he said.
He encouraged the Pokja Team, which was dominated by young people, to become agents of change in changing the community's paradigm from a proposal or request culture to a work culture.
By working diligently, it will bring blessings to the people who work. The YPMAK Village Program is not part of the community's rights so that if a problem occurs, it is asked not to be resolved by means of a crossbar.
This positive change is not only the responsibility of YPMAK but to all citizens, especially the younger generation who have received higher education so that they gain more knowledge.
In addition, Vebian also reminded that the Pokja Team could work honestly and transparently from budget preparation to budget use and program reporting so that the YPMAK Village Program could create additional income for families in the village.
“The money that will be received by the Pokja Team must reach the community to finance work programs carried out by the community and for the community. The YPMAK Village Program is more about instilling a work culture in the community," he hoped.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of YPMAK, Johana Saidui, said that prior to the disbursement of the Highland Village Program funds, the Pokja Team personnel would first be provided with technical guidance for two days.
To equip the Village Working Group Team personnel in administrative matters such as making RAB activities and accountability reports.
"Two days for Bimtek activities, so that friends in the Pokja can learn to prepare a Budget Plan, the RAB for each activity and the preparation of financial accountability reports," he said.
Johana hopes that as soon as the funds are disbursed from the bank, the Pokja personnel consisting of the chairperson and the treasurer can immediately return to the village to properly execute the program and report it, so that it can immediately continue with the current year's program.
The Pokja Team was asked not to linger in Timika City, so that the Village Program funds could soon arrive in their respective villages and the program could be started immediately.
"As soon as the activity is finished there is a disbursement at the bank and it is immediately dispatched to the village, so that it does not stay longer in Timmika City. We hope that all processes are carried out in the village and there is documentation so that it supports accountability reports," he said.
After the direction from the YPMAK leadership, the event continued with the signing of the withdrawal slip by the bank officer and ended with a group photo and a friendly meeting.
