Papua Football Academy is looking for talented Papuan sons who were born in 2009. After successfully holding a talent search event in Timika City (11-12 June 2022), now is the time to greet the sons of Merauke.
Papua Football Academy is the initiation and one of PT Freeport Indonesia's social investment commitments to help develop Papuan football resources.
In the process of searching for talent to participate in the Papua Football Academy, the coaching team led by former assistant coach of the Indonesian national team, Wolfgang Pikal, met several criteria.
In addition to individual football skills, other aspects of the assessment involve playing tactics, physical condition, personality, mentality, and the ability to absorb the coach's instructions.
Participants who pass will continue the process of psychological tests, genetic potential tests based on fingerprint analysis, and medical tests.
"We are still looking for Papuan sons born January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009. After getting great talents in Timika, now it's the turn of Merauke's sons who have the opportunity to show off their skills," said Wolfgang Pikal, Technical Director of the Papua Football Academy, Friday (17/17). 6/2022).
The Papua Football Academy Search for Talent delegation arrived in Merauke City on Wednesday, June 16, 2022, and immediately had the opportunity to meet the Regent of Merauke, Romanus Mbaraka, at Mopah Airport.
The Merauke Regent's full support and hope for the success of the PFA Search for Talent program in the area he leads is like a message that the Merauke people really look forward to the presence of the Papua Football Academy to produce intelligent footballers from Papua.
“We are waiting for the birth of a Papuan player like Rully Nere from the Papua Football Academy. It's a very good program because it doesn't leave formal education for its students," said Romanus Mbaraka, who was delighted to meet Rully Nere, an Indonesian football legend and PFA advisor.
The PFA Merauke Talent Search will be held at the Musamus University Stadium on Saturday and Sunday (18-19 June) starting at 08.00 WIT.
Participants are those who were born from January 1 to December 31, 2009, currently in grade VII SMP, physically in good health, and interested in joining and living in the PFA dormitory in Timika.
“We are ready to help PFA hold a talent search in Merauke City. Merauke always has many talented soccer children with ideal bodies,” said Viktor Ohoiwutun, General Chair of the Merauke Askab.
People in Merauke City are invited to support the PFA Search for Talent program and at the same time participate in a photo competition with a total prize of 25 million rupiah for 10 winners from 3 cities: Timika, Merauke, and Jayapura.
