Merauke Regent: South Papua Province Already Has Final Requirements



Recently, the Regent of Merauke, Romanus Mbaraka, together with regional leaders from 3 New Autonomous Regions (DOB) in Papua, namely South Papua Province (PPS), Central Papua Province, and Central Mountains Province attended an invitation from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) in Jakarta.

Meeting directly with the Directorate General of Regional Autonomy at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Akmal Malik discussed the finalization of preparations for the ratification of the Law on the expansion of the new autonomous regions of 3 provinces in Papua into a law in the near future.
 
"We were invited from three provincial candidates by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Minister of Home Affairs to discuss finishing preparations for expansion. Especially for the Province of South Papua (PPS) it already has final requirements, there are only a few things that must be communicated both written and unwritten," said Merauke Regent Romanus Mbaraka to reporters including Tribun-Papua.com at his residence, Saturday (19/3/). 2022).
 
During the meeting, the Minister of Home Affairs through the Director General of Regional Autonomy together with regional heads discussed various follow-up actions that need and must be continuously communicated.
 
"Basically what the Minister of Home Affairs conveyed through the Director General of Regional Autonomy is that the legislative process on the Draft Law is already underway. Later around May to June (2022) it will become a law," said the number one person in Merauke Regency.
