KKB terrorists are not our brothers

Are the Papuan people our brothers and sisters? Absolutely, yes. There is not the slightest doubt to say that they are compatriots in the country. Are Papuan armed criminal groups (KKB) our brothers? In this case, the answer can be different.

Among the 272 million people of Indonesia, I don't think anyone can deny that the people of 'Bumi Cenderawasih' are our brothers and sisters. Even de jure and de facto, Papua is a member of the Indonesian extended family.

Papua has become one with Indonesia since the Popular Opinion, July 14–August 2, 1969. The Papuan people chose to be part of Indonesia, not the Dutch. The international community also acknowledges, although there are also a few parties who still deny it. What is your opinion about this article? HappyInspireConfuseSad

As members of the Indonesian extended family, the Papuan people are relatives of the people of Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Maluku, Sulawesi, and so on. The skin may be different in color, but everything else is the same. The president is the same, the ideology is the same, the flag is the same, the national language is the same, the national anthem is the same.

It's a different matter with KKB. They are indeed Papuans but do not want to be part of the big Indonesian family. They want to separate, they want to leave the house. Various ways are carried out, including dirty maneuvers by spreading terror. So, at the end of April 2021, the government designated them as a terrorist group.

Because of this, many people think that the Papuan KKB is not our brother.

Brothers and sisters will not hurt. It is impossible for a brother or sister to kill, but that is not what the KKB did. They continue to display violence, constantly sending messages of death.

Not only the TNI/Polri officers who by law have the mandate to secure the situation for civilians, the KKB also has the heart. Schools were burned, health facilities attacked. They killed teachers who were tasked with educating Papuan children. Health workers who serve the community to stay healthy they shoot. Is that what you call a brother? Obviously not.

KKB's ruthless actions seem to have no end. They have repeatedly attacked the TNI/Polri. The scent of the blood of the nation's knights washed over the land of Papua, again and again.

On December 3, 2021, Serda Putra Rahaldi died in Suru-suru, Yahukimo Regency. He was shot while fetching water 15 meters from the post. On December 13, the Brimob Post in Serambakom District, Bintang Mountains District, was attacked. Luckily there were no victims.

On January 22, 2022, Bharada Resi Nugroho, was shot in Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains Regency. Five days later, three TNI members died. Serda M Rizal Maulana Arifin, Pratu Baraza, and Pratu Rahman Tomilawa, died while on duty in Gome, Puncak Regency. The three of them add to the long list of people who sacrifice their lives in Papua.

Data shows that since 2018 the Papuan terrorist KKB has carried out approximately 215 acts of terror. At least 27 members of the TNI and 9 police were killed. Civil society victims are also not small. No less than 59 people.

In a year-end release, the Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri explained, attacks by KKB throughout 2021 rose by 87.75%, from 49 in 2020 to 92 cases. A total of 44 people died, 15 of whom were members of the TNI/Polri.
