The Peak Regency Government (Pemkab) has begun distributing rice from the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The rice was symbolically handed over by Puncak Regent Willem Wandik, SE, MSi to residents at the Puncak Regent's Office Courtyard, Ilaga, Saturday (11/12/2021).
Puncak Regent Willem Wandik in his directive said that this rice was an aid from the central government, related to the implementation of PPKM, in order to overcome Covid-19, targeting underprivileged residents, especially in an atmosphere of welcoming Christmas, so that residents can celebrate Christmas well.
"This rice is a Christmas gift, later there will also be financial assistance, it can be accepted by the community, to prepare for Christmas," he said.
On that occasion, the Regent also invited residents to want to carry out e-KTP recording, because with population data such as NIK, these residents can be recorded electronically and have the right to receive social assistance from the center and the province.
"The rice they get belongs to residents who are registered electronically, if they are not recorded, they will not receive assistance from the center," he said.
"It's just that, because we at Puncak still respect local wisdom, then we share rice equally for all residents, those with NIK or without NIK can all get it," he added.

For this reason, the Regent hopes that district heads, village heads, population services, immediately invite residents, so they don't be afraid to collect e-KTP data, because this data collection is also in the interests of the residents themselves.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Social Service of Puncak Regency, Peniel Waker, explained that the amount of PPKM rice distributed this time was 140 tons, with details of assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia amounting to 90 tons, and from the Papua Provincial Government amounting to 50 tons. 1 family will get 10 kg of rice.
"All the rice is already in the warehouse in Ilaga, ready to be distributed to 25 districts in Puncak regency," he said.
Meanwhile, the social assistance fund from the Ministry of Social Affairs itself amounts to IDR 6 billion, starting from July one family gets IDR 200 thousand/month, multiplied by 6 months, so that one family gets IDR 1,200,000.
"For our own social assistance funds, we will distribute it to residents whose names are recorded on the NIK, if you don't have a NIK, you will not get money, so I invite people who have not been registered, immediately register yourself to get an ID card so you can get help from the center, " he explained.
To note, the Government under the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has implemented PPKM in order to break the Covid-19 chain.
To ease the burden on the poor and vulnerable who cannot work and whose income is declining, the government distributes various social assistances, including residents in Puncak district.
