The Papuan People's Council (MRP) of West Papua has issued a recommendation for the expansion of 7 candidates for new autonomous regions (DOB) in West Papua.
The seven regions in question are Sorong, Maybrat, Tambrauw and several other regencies. This was conveyed by the Chair of the West Papua MRP, Maxsi Nelson Ahoren to KabarPapua.co, Wednesday 10 November 2021.
According to Maxsi, the increasing number of divisions has encouraged the West Papua MRP to prepare human resources (HR) such as affirmations in the areas it is fighting for.
"With the expansion in the near future, regional heads and the MRP-PB have the responsibility to prepare our OAP brothers (indigenous Papuans) to hold certain positions," said Maxsi by telephone, Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
To prepare human resources, said Maxsi, it needs to be done from an early age through good education. The goal is that the sons and daughters of the Papuan generation can occupy important positions in the expanded area.
“This expansion answers all the longings of the people in West Papua. With this division, it will also become a conflict because of the lack of native Papuan human resources,” he said.
The West Papua MRP also advised all parties to organize human resources while preparing for the expansion of new autonomous regions. "Today we must try our best to prepare human resources through affirmations," said Maxsi.
