Papua Governor Lukas Enembe mentioned the importance of drafting regulations relating to the development of human resources (HR) in the area.
Spokesman for the Governor of Papua Muhammad Rifai Darus in Jayapura, Tuesday, said superior programs such as the Papua Superior Scholarship which has been going on for a long time is a conception of Lukas Enembe's awareness of the importance of the education sector in realizing the awakening, independence and welfare of the just Papuan people.
"Governor Lukas Enembe stated that education is the best ammunition for future generations in developing Papua Province," he said.
According to Rifai Darus, Governor Enembe does not want any policy changes that result in a reduction or relocation of the education sector budget that disrupts the sustainability of the implementation of the Papua Provincial Government's priority programs, especially the Papua Superior Scholarship Program.
"Because whether the future of Papua is bright or not is determined by the quality of the young generation who are currently receiving education," he said.
He explained that therefore, Governor Enembe invited all elements in Papua to work together with the Central Government to build a constructive, effective and sustainable communication channel.
"The governor also hopes that the central government in formulating policies within the framework of Papua's Special Autonomy to pay serious attention to a number of superior programs of the Papua Provincial Government which have so far succeeded in improving the quality of Papuan Indigenous Human Resources," he said again.
He added that especially the younger generation who had the opportunity to receive scholarships and carry out their studies at the best universities at home and abroad which basically wanted to open a wider discussion space with the Central Government in discussing policies related to the Papua Province.
