KKB Shoots TNI Members Who Are Going To Shop in Papua, 1 Killed-1 Injured



Armed criminal group terrorists (KKB) have again taken action by shooting in Suru-Suru District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua. As a result, one TNI member died and another was injured.

"There has been a shooting by a terrorist separatist group (KST) against the personnel of the BKO Unit of the Territorial Apparatus (Apter) of the Suru-Suru Preparatory Koramil, which resulted in two victims: one died and one was injured," said Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Lieutenant Colonel Arm Reza Nur Patria when asked for confirmation, Saturday (20/11/2021).

Reza said the shooting occurred on Saturday (20/11) at around 06.00 WIT. Several members of the Suru-Suru Preparatory Koramil BKO Apter Unit departed from the Koramil to shop for daily necessities at the nearest kiosk using a speedboat.

However, on the way, suddenly they were shot by KKB from across the river. The two victims have been evacuated to the Dekai Hospital.

"At approximately 18.00 WIT, the two victims were able to be evacuated by helicopter to the Dekai Hospital," he said.

Furthermore, Reza explained that the two victims would be evacuated to Jayapura for more intensive treatment tomorrow.

Reza explained that the BKO Unit Apter Kodim Koramil This preparation in the Papua Province aims to coordinate with local governments in order to prepare facilities and infrastructure for the Kodim and Koramil. Currently the number of existing Kodim and Koramil is minimal.

"In addition, the task of the BKO Apter unit is to assist local governments in improving the economic standard of the Papuan people," explained Reza.

"The shooting carried out by KST shows that this group does not want an increase in the economy for the Papuan people with acts of attack and terror that are often carried out not only against TNI-Polri officers, but also other people," he added.
