Impact of PON, Papua's Revenue Increases Driven by Construction Sector Growth




Papua Governor Lukas Enembe appreciated the increase in Gross Regional Regional Income (GRDP) of Rp. 1.5 trillion after the XX National Sports Week (PON) in Cenderawasih Earth.

Spokesman for the Governor of Papua Muhammad Rifai Darus said this shows that the easternmost province in Indonesia is able to increase its income outside of mining products.

"I am very happy with these achievements, this has strengthened the aspect of success that we were pursuing during PON XX, namely economic success," he said in Jayapura, Tuesday, October 27, 2021.

According to Rifai Darus, the Governor of Enembe hopes that Papua will continue to grow, not only because of the mining sector, but also because of the non-mining sector.

"The sector most affected is construction, which has an increase of 4.2 to 5 percent or Rp. 778 billion to Rp. 926 billion," he said.

He explained then that the mining sector is believed to have increased revenues of IDR 52 billion to IDR 110 billion.

"The data can be accounted for because it was issued by the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia Papua Province," he said.

Governor Lukas Enembe said the increase in income in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector, the article, the sector during the XX PON is estimated to experience an increase in income of up to 60 percent.

"Meanwhile, the transportation and warehousing sector also experienced the same thing, the figure is believed to reach Rp. 71 billion to Rp. 110 billion," he said.
