The use of sea toll roads in Papua in 2021 will continue to increase, Head of Sea Transportation Traffic and Port Business KSOP Class II Jayapura Willem Thobias Fofid explained, this can be seen from the number of cargoes on Voyage 8 and 9 on the T-19 route across Papua which reached 61 containers.
"We hope that logistical distribution supplies will continue to reach our brothers and sisters who are in mountainous and isolated areas," said Willem.
The increase in the use of the sea highway is also seen in other routes in the Papua and West Papua regions, namely on the T-9 and T-11 routes. This was followed by an increase in departing payloads on the T-22, T-23, T-24, T-25 routes and even the addition of ship service lines on the T-26 route.
Currently the Directorate of Traffic and Sea Transportation of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation has also added two more routes for logistics distribution in the southern region of Papua. The routes are T-27 Merauke - Pomako and T-28 to reach the southern regions of Papua, NT, and Maluku. Willem hopes that the spirit of the 2021 National Transportation Day can be used as momentum.
In commemoration of National Transportation Day, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation through KSOP Class II Jayapura together with the Papuan Medical Community Without Borders and the Papuan Senior and Millennial Forum (FORSEMI) in collaboration with Klasis Kemtuk Gresi held medical services and distribution of marine highway logistics in the form of food ingredients. for the Elseng Tribe and the Bangai village community, in the South Gresi District, Genyem, Jayapura Regency. Their existence is still isolated and nomadic in Tanah Tabi, Papua.
Head of KSOP Class II Jayapura, Taher Laitupa, said that the current national strategic marine highway program can continue to reach every region of Papua.
"This is expected to be a momentum for all components of the nation, especially maritime stakeholders in Papua Province to continue to synergize and increase the use of sea toll roads which are increasing day by day by continuing to use multimodal transportation," said Taher.
Head of the Papuan Medical Community Without Borders, Ruth Yoteni, said the health service activity was carried out for two days in Bangai Village, South Gresi. Yoteni said the activity was a health service program for the Papuan Medical Community Without Borders.
"The target of health services is not only for the people of the Elseng Tribe and the people of Kampung Bangai, but also health services for livestock," said Ruth.
