The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua has committed another act by burning 2 heavy equipment belonging to PT WIKA in Mangabib village, Oksebang District, Bintang Mountains Regency.
"It is true that there was a burning of WIKA's heavy equipment and the case is now being handled by the Bintang Mountains Police," said the Head of the Bintang Mountains Police, AKBP Cahyo Sukarnito.
The police chief explained that the arson of heavy excavators that occurred on Wednesday (8/9) was discovered after an employee of the company reported it to the Pegbin Police Headquarters in Oksibil.
The employee who lives in the Bolangkop mess is about to go to the work location in Mangabib Village. However, upon arrival at the scene, they saw 2 heavy excavators on fire so they did not dare to work and returned to the camp and reported it to the police.
"The heavy equipment was allegedly burned on Tuesday night (7/9) or early Wednesday (8/9)," said Cahyo. Currently, the police have arrived at the crime scene (TKP), and PT WIKA employees are still in the camp because the residents guarantee that they will secure them.
"Earlier on June 29, KKB also damaged trucks belonging to PT WIKA and stole workshop equipment," said the Police Chief.
The head of the Wamena National Road Center, Zepnat Kambu, separately confirmed the burning of heavy equipment belonging to PT WIKA, which was building the Oksibil-Towe Hitam road.
"There were several heavy equipment that were reported to have been burned but there were no casualties in the incident," he said.
