The Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) of the Papua Province confirmed that it was ready to assist the Grand Committee of the XX Papua National Sports Week (PB PON) to supervise broadcasters that would broadcast PON content related to the implementation of the national agenda in the easternmost region of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
The head of the Papua Provincial KPID, Rusni Abaidata, through the Papua Provincial Government's website, Friday, said the Papuan KPID has a strong desire to encourage the public to disseminate the echoes of the XX PON Papua to the public.
"It's just that the content that is broadcast must not violate broadcasting rules," said Rusni after a coordination meeting with PB PON Papua.
In addition to appropriate content, according to the Head of KPID, Rusni also reminded PB PON Papua. To cooperate with radio and television broadcasting institutions that still have broadcasting permits.
"Because PB PON should not cooperate with one of the TV or radio stations and then the broadcasting institution itself is not registered as a legal broadcasting institution," he added.
The head of the KPID, Rusni, reminded that the point was that the Papuan KPID should take care not to cause problems in the future when PB PON Papua cooperates with unlicensed TV and Radio on Earth Cenderawasih.
Rusni said that in the near future he will announce a number of broadcasting institutions that no longer have broadcasting permits. As the obligations in the laws and regulations in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia.
"This means that this institution is strictly prohibited from using that name for commercial activities because it has the potential to be involved in legal problems. You can get into civil or criminal law problems. Because if there is a broadcasting institution whose broadcasting license has been revoked, then it is definitely not allowed to operate,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary IV for Public Relations and PPM PB PON Papua Kadkis A. Matdoan positively welcomed the Papua KPID initiative.
“We welcome the initiative from the Papua KPID so that we can find out which broadcasting institutions we can collaborate with so that it is like that. In the future, we will not have problems in broadcasting PON content,” hoped Kadkis Matdoan.
PON XX Papua will take place from 2-15 October 2021 in four clusters of match organizers including Jayapura City, Mimika, Merauke and Jayapura Regency.
