The results of the data collection carried out by the data collection and control team of Cenderawasih University (Uncen) Jayapura, especially those related to dormitories and rusunawa, found astonishing results.
It was reported that out of all the residents, which numbered around 400 people, 75 percent of them were not active students, aka people from outside.
Regarding this, the Chancellor of Cenderawasih University, Dr., Ir., Apolo Safanpo ST., MT, said that as soon as possible Uncen would carry out control and data collection through a team that had been formed. "So we also just found out that of the total occupants of the student dormitories and flat 75 percent are not students. Only 25 percent of them are students, while the rest are outsiders, ”said Apolo when giving a press statement in the Uncen meeting room.
It is said that this control effort is not without prior notification. It has even been delivered since 2018 and has been carried out gradually. "Socialization has been carried out since 2018 and 2019. In fact, at the beginning of 2020, it was about to be put in order, but the situation changed because of Covid-19, so this year we will do it," he said.
He said that after the control, there would be an inventory of students who would take up dormitories and flat again.
There are three conditions that must be fulfilled, namely first, you must have an Uncen student card. The two certificates are still active lectures given by the faculty and the third has a Jayapura City KTP identity. If this requirement is not met, it is not permissible to occupy dormitories and flat.
Here Apolo also admits that the purpose of this control is to make Uncen free from all interests of groups and individuals.
"In addition, it turns out that in the campus environment there are also groups that use the campus area as a place for drunkenness, a place for drug transactions to other crimes," he admitted.
For the control itself, it is said that April 30 is the last day or time and immediately Uncen will coordinate with the Jayapura City Government to carry out justisi operations including the Koramil, Polsek and Polresta to back up control.
"In front of the student regiment and campus security. They will be backed up by the Police or the Koramil. So those who feel that they are not students, we invite them to leave the dormitories and flat, "he added.
