The Papua Health Office will focus on increasing vaccination in 4 centralized areas for holding PON XX Papua, namely Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Merauke and Timika.
"This is done to make the national agenda for PON in Papua a success which is planned to be implemented in October 2021," explained the Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) at the Papua Health Service, doctor Aaron Rumainum, Monday (22/3).
The Papuan Health Office notes that there are 10 districts / cities out of 29 districts / cities in Papua, with the highest number of vaccinations, namely Jayapura City, Tolikara District, Merauke, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, Biak Numfor, Mimika, Yahukimo, Nabire and Puncak Jaya.
Aaron said, during March 18-20 there was an increase in vaccine coverage in Papua, around 14.249 injections in 2 days or as many as 7. 125 injections per day.
"Currently, we are in the process of finishing the vaccine for the period March 20 - May 8, 2021, by targeting the adult population to the elderly, which is done simultaneously," said Aaaron.
