The coach of the West Java futsal team, Panca Pauji, has prepared a program to prepare for the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) which will be held in October 2021.
According to Panca, West Java KONI instructed to hold a centralization starting this month. It's just that the West Java futsal team has difficulty gathering players, because the majority are under contract with the club.
"For January we started to do centralization following KONI's direction, there were only a few obstacles, especially in futsal, because all futsal players had already made professional contracts with their clubs, so we adjusted," said Panca.
Panca did not make this an obstacle. In the previous PON, he had felt the same thing. Reflecting on his previous experience, he is optimistic that his team's preparation will remain optimal.
"This has happened in the two previous periods I held in West Java. It's like that, almost all professional players and this is not a barrier for us. Because it is like that outside. In the English League, at the World Cup, they only gathered two to arrive. three months earlier, "said Panca.
During the preparation period, Paca will fix the shortcomings of his team, so that when the XX Papua PON is held the West Java futsal team can perform optimally and defend the title.
"But maybe there are some weaknesses that we have to quickly fix, especially chemistry, and we usually gather them four to five months," said Panca again.
At the 2016 West Java PON, the home futsal team won a gold medal after beating North Maluku with a score of 2-1, in the final match which took place at Graha Laga Satria Futsal, Sumedang Regency.
