Indonesia is a mucticultural country which is famous for its diversity. Not only in terms of religion, but also art, culture and customs that accompany it. Indonesia consists of thousands of large and small islands. Which stretches from Sabang (tip of Sumatra) to Merauke (Papua).
Papua, part of Indonesia, has been known for a long time. The long history of its struggle has become a silent witness that Papua is the Republic of Indonesia. The liberation of West Irian (as Papua was called at that time) by the heroes became a measure of how much the Republic of Indonesia valued the land of Cendrawasih as part of it.

Which cannot be separated from the Round Table Conference (KMB) in the Netherlands in 1949. It turns out that the affirmation of Dutch recognition of Indonesian independence still left the West New Guinea or West Irian region. Meanwhile, this must be completed within one year.
The problems did not stop there, even since 1954 it seemed that the Dutch had deliberately closed the regional meeting from negotiations. Indonesia considers that there is no other way than to use military operations to return the territory to the Republic of Indonesia.
Significantly, Jakarta officially cut diplomatic relations with the Netherlands, in 1960. Along with this, Indonesia received supplies of weapons from the Soviet Union. The fact that the defense of Southeast Asia (SEATO) was affiliated with the United States still wanted the Dutch to occupy West Irian. However, it seems that their views are ambiguous when they see that the enthusiasm of the Indonesian people is so high to reclaim their territory.
The struggle did not stop there, various conflicts were faced for the return of the Cendrawasih Earth. Various incidents, starting from the failure of negotiations to other negotiations, did not reduce the spirit of the heroes and people of Indonesia. In fact, it is increasingly steadily pegging its territory from the invaders. Finally the struggle paid off on May 1, 1064, West Irian officially became part of the Republic of Indonesia again.
Judging from history alone, of course the existence of Papua cannot be separated from Indonesia. So that Papuans are absolutely Indonesians at any time. The conclusion is how could Indonesia defeat this region. Even though the process of returning it to the motherland's lap is carried out furiously.
Regarding the issue of racism some time ago, it has indeed made the state situation a little heated. Riots occurred everywhere, anarchist actions including the burning of shop houses, buildings and public facilities made the situation even more tense. Moreover, the truth is not yet known (Hoax).
The various frying opinions to reduce the expulsion of Papuan students in Surabaya are actually really unfortunate. Even though the suspect has been found, the traumatic scars are still felt in the hearts of Papua and Indonesia.
This racist action that led to expulsion was considered to contain elements of hate speech, such as the evidence presented. Several parties including the mayor of Surabaya also apologized and regretted the incident. President Jokowi is trying hard to synchronize all elements of society in order to create a conducive and safe situation under control.
The security apparatus consisting of the TNI and Polri worked hand in hand to safeguard the situation that had gotten out of hand. Public access was totally paralyzed so that the economy seemed to die. The entire community is urged not to be provoked and do similar anarchist things.
Tough negotiations were made to reach an agreement. Religious leaders, youths and other government officials in Papua were invited to cool off. Now everyone can be calm, Papua's agricultural and plantation sectors are starting to run smoothly. Traffic and shopping centers also started operating. The education sector has started the day as before. Public access has begun to be improved and the TNI and Polri cleared up remnants of the riot the other day. Material and spiritual losses certainly do not need to be experienced if from the start the action can be suppressed.
From here the struggle is not over, there will be parties who want Indonesia to be divided. Therefore, all are urged to continue to prioritize unity so that similar incidents do not happen again. The government also promised to improve equity and justice in various fields following the development that had been carried out previously in Papua. And more importantly Papua is asked to be active if there is something missing related to development or the system so that the government can move quickly. Papua is Indonesia!
