All residents in Keerom Regency are encouraged to apply health protocols when voting at polling stations (TPS) on 9 December.
"The citizens' health must be maintained after the voting. So it is mandatory to apply health protocols so that there are no new clusters due to the Pilkada, "said Acting Head of Keerom District, Dr. Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun.
He also invited residents in Keerom to channel their voting rights by visiting the polling station to elect leaders in the area according to their conscience.
"We want the Pilkada in Keerom to become a barometer for a democratic, successful and safe Pilkada from Covid-19," he hoped.
As the Acting Regent, he hopes that from the results of the Pilkada, a leader will be elected who will be able to prosper the community and develop the district.
"Hopefully Keerom is led by a regent and deputy regent who can serve and provide welfare for the community," said Ridwan
Meanwhile, Ridwan admitted that from the report received by the local police chief, the security situation in the area was monitored as safe and conducive. He also advised the public to maintain a safe and peaceful kamtibmas situation before and after the voting.
"The last pantaun is the security situation according to the Chief of Police, where the situation is safe and under control. However, we also hope that the community will continue to participate in maintaining security, "he concluded.
