100 Uninhabitable Homes in South Manokwari Will Be Demolished

As many as 100 uninhabitable housing units (RTLH) in South Manokwari Regency, West Papua received assistance of Rp. 21 million per housing unit.

This assistance is a Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (KemenPUPR).

"We are ready to dissect 100 uninhabitable houses in South Manowari Regency," said the Head of the Papua II Regional Housing Provision Agency (PPP), Yance Pabisa, during a field visit to the BSPS Program site in Manokwari, West Papua, some time ago.

According to him, the implementation of the BSPS program in the area was carried out in Oransbaru district, specifically in three villages, including 31 units of Oransbari Village, 30 units of Waroser, and 39 units of Mauri.

"The allocation of aid funds per housing unit is Rp. 21 million, so that the total aid to be distributed by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing for housing renovations in South Manokwari Regency is Rp. 2.1 billion," he explained.

In total, the Ministry of PUPR will dissect 3,383 houses. The number of houses receiving assistance is likely to increase, if the local government proposes more assistance.

One of the recipients of house renovation assistance in Waroser Village, Ronald said, he was very grateful to the Ministry of PUPR for providing BSPS assistance to the people of West Papua.

"We hope that next year, the Oransbari District will again receive house renovation assistance, because there are still many people who live in homes unfit for habitation," he hoped.
