Two Covid-19 Medical Workers Killed by KKB are Papu Natives |
Two medical personnel handling the Covid-19 corona virus in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua were persecuted by the armed separatist criminal group (KKSB) on Friday, May 22, 2020 yesterday. One medical person was killed in the incident.
Head of Information for Kodam XVII / Cenderawasih Colonel Cpl Eko Daryanto said the two victims were indigenous Papuans (OAP). They were assigned to the local puskesmas as part of the Intan Jaya District Prevention and Management Task Force Team.
"On Friday at around 13:00 local time at Kampung Wandai Homeo District there was an assault by the Armed Separatist Group (KSB) against two indigenous Papuan people (OAP)," Eko said in a written press release, Saturday (05/23/2020 ).
The two victims were the village head of Puskesmas Wandai Ale Melik Bogau and an employee of the Intan Jaya District Health Office, Heniko Somau. Heniko Somau died in the incident. While Ale Melik Bogau suffered injuries and is being treated.
"They suffered machete wounds," Eko said.
"The provisional suspicion of the motive for the persecution is because the separatist group considers the two victims to be spies for the TNI / Polri apparatus," continued Eko.
In response to this bloody incident, steps taken by the security forces of the Joint TNI / Polri, among others, emphasize the entire line of units in the area to increase vigilance and subsequently help evacuate victims of persecution to the nearest hospital.
"The security conditions of the Wandai Camp in the Homeo District can be controlled, the joint military / police forces are still investigating and pursuing the perpetrators of the persecution," Eko concluded.
