Persipura Donates Half a Billion to Help Covid-19

Persipura donated half a billion to support the work of the Central Covid-19 Task Force team. Persipura Chairperson Benhur Tomi Mano said the funds to help the handling and control of the corona virus in Indonesia had been sent directly to the corona task force account in Jakarta.

"I got a report from the president director that funds amounting to Rp509,600,000, have been transferred to the Covid-19 Task Force, we are grateful and praise God for finally being able to help the government in tackling this corona outbreak," BTM said, Friday (5/29/2020 ).

Persipura's generosity when the corona virus as a global pandemic hit Indonesia, including Papua, which until today continues to report the number of new cases of positive patients, should be emulated by other clubs.

This shows the concern and existence of Persipura, the number one elite club in Indonesia. The team nicknamed the Black Pearl also has a positive side and advantages not possessed by other top clubs.

BTM added that at first they were constrained by the regulation of the New Indonesia League (PT LIB), which required that they could only send the funds to the Roma account. Persipura Management then wrote to the task force team to seek approval and the destination account.

"We responded very well by the Covid-19 Task Force, and finally on Wednesday 27/5/2020 morning we were able to send donations from the Persipura Jayapura," he said.

Why is the value of Rp509,600,000, because subsidies from LIB are immediately deducted by fines or violations, such as additional fines for players and yellow card and red card fines.

"The 10.4 million discount, from the LIB is the income tax tax, we are asking for the evidence to the LIB," said the number one person in Jayapura City.

The noble action of Persipura received a different assessment from Jacko, a resident of Entrop who is one of the supporters of Persipura mania that what the management of Persipura deserves is appreciated and appreciated in the current situation, but it is not appropriate to help Jakarta.

"I personally think why that much money Rp509,600,000 is not used to help medical workers in the city of Jayapura," he said, Friday (5/29/2020).
