OAP Should Be a Distributor of Basic Foods |
Commission II of the Papua Parliament in charge of the Economy and Trade also hopes that there are indigenous Papuans (OAPs) who are distributors of nine staples and basic commodities in Papua.
Chairperson of the Papua Legislative Commission II Mega Mansye Nikijuluw, SH hopes that the Papua Provincial Office of Industry and Cooperatives can increase the number of distributors in the Land of Papua. Especially for distributors of native Papuans.
"We, Commission II of the Papua House of Representatives in charge of trade, instructed the Per Kisop to add distributors, specifically Papuans. Because so far we have seen that there are 17 distributors in Tanah Papua but none from OAP at all. So our emphasis must be OAP, "said Mega Nikijuluw.
According to Mega, it was not without reason it requested that additional distributors of basic food items and OAP special commodities be carried out. Because, local food in the Land of Papua is abundant. So that the presence of these distributors can accommodate local farmers' crops.
"So they can accommodate all the harvests of people in Papua," said Mega.
But related to food and commodity goods, said Mega, his party will routinely carry out monitoring and supervision by going directly to the market and distributors. So that the availability and stability of basic food prices and commodity goods are maintained.
"For that we will continue to conduct surveillance," he added.
