Mimika Regional Police Invites the Community to Prepare to Enter the Normal Era |
Mimika Resort Police, Papua, invites the public to get ready to enter a new era of normal life after the emergency response of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mimika Kapolres AKBP IGG Era Adhinata in Timika said the government, starting from the central to regional levels, would prepare a number of health protocols that would be a guide for people in various sectors in entering the new normal era.
"Whatever the policies of the government must be prepared. For the community, they must be more aware of how to maintain social distance and physical distance, maintain cleanliness by washing hands, wearing masks. The most important of all, how to maintain health so that our immunity does not decrease so that it can be easily contracting the disease, "said AKBP Era Adhinata.
The Head of the Police Resort appreciated the high awareness of the people of Timika City in complying with the expanded and tightened social restrictions policy (PSDD) from 21 May to 4 June 2020.
Even though there were still residents who violated, namely leaving the house and wandering on the highway above at 14:00 CET until 6:00 CET and then immediately tested quickly, the Chief of Police considered that the number of residents who violated it was not how much.
"Actually, the PSDD does not need to be enforced if everyone in Timika is aware of the dangers of COVID-19. This awareness needs to be built so that it becomes a new culture in people's lives," he explained.
The police chief hoped that business places in the city of Timika such as shops, hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, including in the Central Market must be ready to face the implementation of new normal policies.
In these places, he said, a minimum of one meter should be arranged, gloves, hand washing facilities, limited visitor capacity, spraying disinfectants and cleaning the room and furniture provided.
"Especially in the market area that must be prepared properly. Must be strictly regulated distance between sellers, as well as the distance between sellers and buyers so that people are not clustered. This requires the hard work of all parties, not only the local government. Everyone must realize that we have entered a new era which is not as free as it used to be, "said AKBP Era Adhinata.
The police chief also hoped that places of worship in the city of Timika and surrounding areas such as churches, mosques, temples and others began to prepare for the adoption of new normal policies.
Enforcement of a new normal policy with strict guidelines or protocols is seen as something that cannot be denied because the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, while on the other hand access to communities can resume activities needs to be opened in order to avoid a more prolonged economic recession.
