| Central Government Distributes 5,000 Social Assistance Packages to Jayapura City Government |
Jayapura City Government (Pemkot) received 5,000 packages of basic social assistance (bansos) from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The Social Aid is sent through the Papua Logistics Bureau.
Papua / West Papua Logistics Agency Head Sopran Kenedi then handed over the assistance from the central government to Jayapura Mayor Benhur Tomi Mano, accompanied by AKBP Jayapura City Police Chief Gustav R Urbinas, at Bulog Warehouse, Jalan Santarosa Argapura, South Jayapura District.
"We, on behalf of the people of Jayapura City, would like to thank the President of the Republic of Indonesia for taking care of Papuans, especially Jayapura City, by giving 5,000 packages of nine-basic necessities to the people of Jayapura City," said Benhur Tomi Mano, who is known as BTM.
BTM said the assistance received by Jayapura City Government would later be distributed to people who had not yet received assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Papua Province and from the City Government.
"The delivery of this assistance will be escorted directly by the police so that it is right on target to people who have not received basic food assistance from any party," he said.
Meanwhile Jayapura City Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Gustav R Urbinas said for security in the distribution of food assistance through the Jayapura City Government it would be escorted by the transfer of basic food from the Bulog warehouse to the municipal warehouse to the distribution to the community.
"Distribution will be escorted by the bhabinkamtibmas and babinsa together with the kelurahan so that it is certain that the groceries can be received to those who are entitled according to the data agreed upon later," he said.
Gustav said that currently data verification was still being carried out, later based on that data it would be escorted to help secure the distribution. "So we only assist and assist activities by Jayapura City Police through the police chief and bhabinkamtibmas ranks," he explained
