Budget of Rp 43 Billion for Handling COVID-19 Sorong City |
The Government of Sorong City, West Papua Province, has adjusted the 2020 regional budget allocation for handling a new type of Corona virus outbreak that causes COVOD-19 of Rp 43 billion.
Mayor Lambert Jitmau said in Sorong on Monday that he and the Sorong City DPRD had set a budget for handling COVID-19 worth Rp43 billion and had been reported to the central government.
He said that the Rp43 billion budget was proposed to the central government not randomly but based on a plan tailored to the needs of the region for handling COVID-19.
He said that the Rp 43 billion budget for handling COVID-19 was divided into three regional apparatus organizations namely the Health Service and Sele be Solu Hospital on Monday Rp 32 billion for patient care efforts.
Furthermore, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) worth Rp 12 billion and the Social Service Rp 7 billion to make efforts to deal with non-natural disasters.
He explained, the budget had been submitted to the central government and was awaiting disbursement. But so far the Corona virus prevention efforts are running with a minimum budget.
The Mayor said that not all of the use of the budget in handling COVID-19 was overseen by the prosecutors or the police.
Therefore, he hopes that regional government organizations that use the budget will be allocated according to plan and can be accounted for.
