There is no compromise with OPM |
The Free Papua Organization (OPM) offers a ceasefire amid the Corona virus pandemic (Covid-19). However, the ceasefire option must also be agreed upon by the government by participating in withdrawing all non-organic military forces from Papua.
A spokesman for the West Papua National Liberation Army and the Free Papua Movement (TPNPB-OPM), Sebby Sembom confirmed the news. He also stressed that the option must also be approved by the government by stopping and withdrawing non-organic military forces.
"Yes, that is true and that is if Indonesia withdraws all non-organic military from Papua. Due to the fact that the TNI-Polri are currently carrying out large military mobilizations and conducting military operations in Ndugama, Lani Jaya, Timika, Tembagapura and Oksibil, Gunung Bintang Regency, "Sebby said on Thursday (4/8/2020).
Broadly speaking, the ceasefire option offered by the OPM must also be accepted by the government not to conduct military operations on the island of Cenderawasih. Sebby also sent a written statement made by OPM-TPNPB Chairman Jeffrey Bomanak. The written statement was made from Victoria's OPM-TPNPB headquarters on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.
In his statement, Jeffrey said that the OPM-TPNPB also supported the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic which he considered had threatened human life, until now the war between the OPM and military forces was still ongoing, especially in a number of vital points such as the Freeport mining area, Tembagapura, Timika .
Clashes also occur in Intan Jaya, Ndugama Kodap III, Bintang Mountains and Victoria's OPM-TPNPB headquarters. The addition of the number of military troops is also said to be still being carried out by the government.
The ceasefire option is just an OPM trick to be free to carry out the action. The TNI-Polri apparatus will not be withdrawn from Papua, because there will be no compromise with the country's enemy!
