Mimika prepares 100 tons of rice |
The Government of Mimika Regency, Papua Province has prepared 100 tons of government reserve rice stored in the Timog Bulog warehouse to help people who live on the coast and inland who are now having difficulty getting basic necessities.
"I have agreed that there are 100 tons of government reserve rice bulog distributed to communities in coastal and mountain villages. Because the stalls in some of the coastal villages such as Amar, Kapiraya, Jita and several other districts are closed because the community forbids people come in and out because there is a corona virus outbreak, "Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng said in Timika.
Mimika Regency Government also prepares packages of other basic necessities besides rice. It's just that the distribution of aid into the interior is difficult considering that some areas in the Mimika mountains are now guaranteed security conditions due to interference with the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
"If in coastal villages we can use boats or motorboats to deliver aid. But if in mountains such as Aroanop, Tsinga, Jila, Hoeya, Alama, we have difficulty because there are prone to security disturbances," he explained.
The budget prepared by the Mimika Regency Government for overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak that was approved some time ago was Rp172 billion.
The Omaleng District Head promised to increase the COVID-19 countermeasure budgeting allocation through deduction of funds from outside the regional government service from each regional apparatus organization in the Mimika Regency Government.
During the evaluation meeting yesterday, I ordered all business trips and activities to go outside the region in each OPD to be directed
"So yesterday we had a meeting and I have ordered that the budget of all official travel and activities that go outside the region in each OPD is directed to address the COVID-19 issue, including serving the public both in terms of health and basic needs, economy and others," said the Omaleng Regent.
The Head of the Timika Bulog Supporting Branch Office, Ariek Estyanto Indra Wibowo admitted that the Mimika Regency Government was given 100 tons of government rice reserves (CBP) per year which could be used in conditions of national disaster.
"The regent's execution can be through the social service that is used for natural disasters. The COVID-19 outbreak case is also a non-natural disaster not only on a national scale but throughout the world.
