Papua Health Office Targets a Week for a Rapid Test

The Papua Health Service is given a time limit for the next week to carry out a rapid test of people under surveillance (ODP) and patients under surveillance (PDP) in Papua. Rapid test was conducted to find out the distribution map of Covid-19 in Cenderawasih Earth.

Deputy Governor of Papua Klemen Tinal said, by examining the rapid test it can be seen more quickly by people exposed to covid-19.

"This is in accordance with the emphasis of the President through a limited meeting (Ratas) with all provinces," Klemen said, Monday, April 27, 2020.

According to Klemen, in the Ratas the President emphasized three things namely in addition to the completion of the rapid test. And the local government is asked to move quickly and massively in handling co-19. So that the national target for the June 19th pandemic will end soon.

"The same thing we did in Papua, 192 was positive. But until now whether that reflects all that is in Papua. Therefore, the Covid-19 Task Force from the Health Office must begin a rapid test, "he said.

Klemen explained, the rapid test was aimed at making the government and health workers aware of the map of the spread of co-19. This is a reference for the local government in taking further policies.

"If it is positive, isolation will be immediately carried out, so that if you want to go up (curva), go up all at once, so that we don't worry there will be another positive (second wave)," he said.

The Papua Provincial Government focuses on mapping ODP and PDP. Unconsciously they can be a source of transmission that can bring the virus to spread.

"Like us in Papua, it is possible that ODP and PDP are still free to roam whether it's a social problem or shopping. Therefore, this is our focus, "said Klemen.
