Mimika Regency Government continues the COVID-19 mass inspection

A number of officers who are members of the Mimika District COVID-19 Task Force Handling Team take part in a mass examination using a 'rapid test' at the Mimika Transportation Office, Saturday (4/25/2020).

Spokesperson of the COVID-19 Task Force Handling Team in Mimika Regency, Papua said, the examination of residents under the status of patients under surveillance (PDP), people in monitoring (ODP), and people without symptoms (OTG) will be concentrated in four puskesmas in Timika City, Wania Health Center , Pasar Sentral Health Center, Timika Health Center and Timika Jaya Health Center.

The inspection will be carried out by a team from the Mimika Health Office in collaboration with local Puskesmas officials on Saturday (4/25/2020) afternoon, the Mimika COVID-19 Task Force to conduct a mass inspection of about 300 people who are considered to be at high risk of COVID-19 exposure.

The officers who were considered high risk were employees of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), employees of the Land Transportation Department, members of the Civil Service Police Unit, and members of the Mimika Baru Police Sector.

Mass tests using rapid tests were also carried out on a number of residents of Kampung Asmat on Jalan Tipuka and the Hiripau incubator area, East Mimika District by the Mimika Health Office Epidemology Investigation Team in collaboration with the Mapurujaya Puskesmas Team.

Reynold said his staff were still continuing to develop mass examinations using rapid tests on dozens of teachers and students in one of the elementary schools in the Sempan region, Timika.

The epidemiology investigation officer at the Mimika Health Office, Kamaluddin, some time ago said 31 teachers and 39 students at the school had made contact with one of the positive patients of COVID-19, namely patient 014 who also worked as a teacher at the school.

014 patients who are still undergoing treatment in isolation at Tembagapura Hospital are known to still have time to go to teach and meet fellow teachers and their students even though his condition had begun to become ill at the end of last March.

As of this Sunday, the Mimika COVID-19 Task Force Handling Team is still awaiting laboratory examinations from as many as 65 swab samples that have been sent to Jayapura. The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Mimika was 41 cases, five patients were declared cured, while three others died.

As many as 33 positive COVID-19 patients in Mimika are still undergoing treatment and isolation at the hospital, 13 patients are being treated at the Mimika Regional Hospital, 11 people are being treated at the Wisma Atlet shelter and nine are being treated at Tembagapura Hospital.
