Former OPM Member Hand Over Senpi To the TNI Border Security Task Force

One of the former members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) of the National Liberation Army of the Free Papua Organization (TPN / OPM) of the South Papua region voluntarily surrendered one firearm (senpi) to the Battalion Border Task Force Task Force 406 / CK.

Dansatgas Infantry Battalion 406 / CK, Lieutenant Colonel Andy Soelistyo explained, the Senk type Engkelop was handed over by a resident named Antonius Wanggimop to Danpos Amoan First Lieutenant Inf Faisal in Amoan Post. The surrender of the senpi, according to him, was the result of the hard work of Pos Amoan members, supported by Dankipur B, First Lieutenant Inf Buyung Asmoro, in carrying out territorial development and raising the community.

"This is a form and hard work of Pos Amoan members," he said in a written statement received on Monday (4/20/2020).

He explained, to win the hearts of the community, members who were tasked with making an approach were prioritizing family attitudes. The concrete is to pay attention such as helping to overcome the difficulties of the community in Kampung Kawangtet and Kampung Amoan.

"So that it has given confidence to the community to accept and consider the Task Force Battalion 406 / CK officers who served in the Amoan Post are like their own families, so that the people of Kawangtet and Amoan believe to surrender the senpi which is still kept by the people who were formerly members of the TPN / OPM , "he explained.

On foot, Antonius Wanggimop departed from his home in Kampung Kawangtet for the Yonif 406 / CK Task Force Post in Amoan. Antonius admitted that he did so because he did not want any conflict and conflict due to the remnants of the weapons.

"We want our village to live in peace and prosperity. No more human victims, that's why I try to persuade people who still have weapons so they don't need to save them anymore," Antonius said at the time.

Furthermore, Lt. Col. Andy Soelistyo admitted that he always emphasized his soldiers so that in every territorial activity they always paid attention and tried to help the community's difficulties.

"We are here for the community while remaining guided by our duties as the RI-PNG Border Security Unit. The more we care for the people in our environment, they will also love and care for us. We are the Knights of the People's Protector," he concluded.
