Papua Governor: No Lockdown, Only Social Restrictions

Papua Governor, Lukas Enembe asserted that the Papua regional government will not do a lockdown related to the prevention of the spread of the corona virus in Papua.

This was confirmed by Governor Enembe after holding a meeting with Forkompinda and the Regional Head who was held at the State Building, Tuesday (03/24/20) evening.

"There is no lock down, only social restrictions, we need to block Lapago, Mepago and Anima because they are vulnerable," the governor told the Press.

Luke explained that the social restrictions meant to temporarily prohibit people from entering Papua, either by air or sea.

"For transportation of goods may enter, people who are not allowed to enter," said the Governor.

The governor said the social restrictions in Papua will take effect on Thursday, March 26, 2020 until April 9, 2020 or for 14 days.

"This regulation comes into force today until the next 14 days, then after that we will see its development," said Enembe.
