3 Article Threatens Residents Still Wandering Outside the Home

The Papua Regional Police will act decisively with three articles at once to the people who do not carry out government appeals and the information from the National Police Chief, to remain at home in preventing corona civid-19.

Head of Papua Police Public Relations, Commissioner Pol AM Kamal said if there are still stubborn people, do not heed the order of personnel in charge of the interests of the nation and state, then the legal process will be with Article 212 and Article 216 and 218 of the Criminal Code.

"The National Police together with the TNI will disperse people who are still clustered. The National Police will take action against people who do not heed the government's appeal, work from home and maintain distance or social distancing," he said, Tuesday (24/3).

Even so, the Papua Regional Police continues to make persuasive humanist efforts to convey the appeal to the people who are still gathering.

"Polri's efforts to disperse the crowd to follow up on the Police Chief's Announcement number Mak / 2 / III / 2020 dated March 19, 2020. This announcement was issued following the rapid spread of Covid-19 transmission in Indonesia," Kamal explained.

The Government of the Papua Province together with the Indonesian National Police have collaborated with relevant agencies to temporarily close the places that are the center of the crowd as has been done in front of the Office of the Governor of Papua Province, which is usually the center of the crowd in Jayapura City.
