The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will forcibly pick up the lawyer for the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, Aloysius Renwarin, if he is not cooperative in fulfilling the summons of the investigative team.
Aloysius had previously been absent from being summoned by the KPK investigators team as a witness in a bribery and gratuity case related to a project in Papua that ensnared Lukas Enembe.
"Once again, but we also have a basis when a witness or suspect is summoned properly and then he is absent, witnesses can be forcibly picked up. Not only suspects, witnesses can also be forcibly picked up," said KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri in his statement, quoted on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Ali emphasized that Aloysius was summoned in his capacity as a citizen because of the need for an investigation related to the case that ensnared Lukas Enembe.
He ensures that the KPK understands the duties, principals and functions of a legal attorney who is certain to protect his client based on the Advocate Law. Because lawyers are also part of law enforcement.
"Of course when we call someone as a witness, it must have something to do with the case, which then we need to investigate. A witness helps the duties of investigators to make clear and clear the alleged actions of the suspects," he said.
Therefore, Ali requested that the lawyer for the number one person in Papua be cooperative to attend the second summons sent by the KPK.
Previously, on Friday, November 18, 2022, Lukas Enembe's attorney, Aloysius Renwarin, was absent from being summoned by KPK investigators. He was examined as a witness in the investigation into the alleged bribery and gratuity case for project work originating from the APBD of Papua Province.
In the examination which took place at the KPK Jakarta Red and White Building, a driver named Darwis who was summoned as a witness also did not comply with the investigation team's summons.
