The condition of the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, is still reported to be sick. As a result, public services in the Papua Provincial Government are unstable.
Seeing this condition, various groups hope that the central government will immediately act by appointing an interim governor of Papua.
A youth leader from the Tabi customary area, Martinus Kasuay urged the Government to immediately take steps to save public services for the Papuan people, due to the health condition of the Governor of Papua who is still sick and caught in a corruption case.
"So, if the governor is sick now, let someone take care of him, such as doctors and nurses. Meanwhile, government affairs need to be presented by temporary officials to take care of the people in Papua. This is important. Don't close your eyes to the central government," said Martinus, in Sentani, Saturday (22/10/2022).
According to Martinus, with the presence of a new official who leads governance in the Papua Provincial Government, the wheels of government and service to the community will be maximized.
During the governor's illness, continued Martinus, the general public complained about the services provided by the government. There are stagnant development funds and so on.
In Martinus' observations, in the last few months, provincial government officials and political elites in Cenderawasih Earth are busy taking care of the governor's health and neglecting the interests of the community.
“If we all want to take care of the sick, then what about the people? The governor is only one person, someone already takes care of it. There are many people. This community needs to be taken care of, not left alone, or does everyone want to be left sick?” said Martin.
Regarding the allegations of corruption that ensnared the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, Martinus reiterated his stance on supporting the KPK to examine Lukas according to the rules in force in this country.
"If all Papuan officials want to be investigated, just check, but the community needs to be saved," said Martinus.
Martinus also criticized Governor Lukas Enembe's new status as the Chief of the Papuan Tribe as confirmed by Dominikus Sorabut's version of the Papua Customary Council (DAP). According to Martinus, the confirmation was invalid.
“We in Papua have 7 traditional territories with different leadership structures in ethnic groups. According to my customary version of the Tabi culture, the Chieftain is appointed based on lineage. But in the traditional areas of Lapago and Meepago, who is strong in war, he is the head of the tribe,” said Martinus
Therefore Martinus insisted that the inauguration of Lukas Enembe as the head of a large tribe for all Papuans was illegal. He also opposes the supporters of Lukas Enembe, who are maneuvering to use Papuan customs and culture as a shield to protect Lukas Enembe from legal proceedings by the KPK.
“Customs and the government should not be standardized, they must be separated. The traditional stakeholders are government partners,” concluded Martinus.
