Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw asked Papua Governor Lukas Enembe to resign from his position. Paulus admitted that he was ashamed to see the hedonism displayed by Luke who did not pay attention to the condition of the Papuan people.
"Although in my heart I cry to see our people who have been abandoned by their leaders irresponsibly, it saddens us and makes us ashamed," said Paulus at JCC Senayan, Central Jakarta, Thursday (29/9/2022). “Moreover, hedonism is shown by spending people's money. I don't think he deserves to be that leader. I say that, firmly, it is better for him to resign than to be arrested by the KPK," he continued.
Departing from that, Paulus also felt called to be the deputy governor of Papua to replace the late Klemen Tinal. However, it is known that currently, the position of Deputy Governor of Papua is still vacant. "That's the possibility that I was asked to be present in filling out the death of the deputy governor and I thought about the mechanism of the process, but I myself am also in principle if there is no clarity I will not insist," he said.
Luke Enembe KPK Suspect
As is known, Lukas Enembe was named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) after allegedly receiving a Rp 1 billion gratuity related to the APBD in Papua in early September. However, Lukas Enembe's attorney, Stefanus Roy Rening, denied the allegation that the money was gratuity. Lukas has also been summoned by the KPK several times, but the Papuan governor has yet to fulfill the summons. Papua Governor Lukas Enembe's attorney, Aloysius Renwari, said that Lukas Enembe is still under treatment so he cannot attend the KPK summons.
Private Jet Find
The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) continues to reveal findings related to the Luke Enembe case. Recently, MAKI revealed the route of the Papua Governor's private jet
This overseas trip was revealed by MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman in his statement to detikcom, Sunday (25/9). Luke Enembe called 3 times using a private jet. In addition to flying to Singapore and Malaysia, Lukas also flew to Germany. However, Boyamin did not know about Lukas' activities in Germany.
"To Germany, we don't know whether there is gambling there and whether there is a permit from the Minister of Home Affairs," said Boyamin. Lukas Enembe, said Boyamin, had also used a private jet several times.
