Religious leader Reverend Yonas Wenda asked the community to jointly maintain the security and public order situation (Kamtibmas) in Papua Province.
According to Yonas, currently there are many issues being played by the political elite to disrupt security. One of them is the issue of Special Autonomy and the formation of new autonomous regions (DOB).
“Many reject Otsus and DOB, but it is only a handful of individuals. Let's be grateful for the policies given by the government to Papua," said Yonas, Wednesday (14/9) afternoon.
Yonas explained that the groups that often make propaganda issues against special autonomy and autonomous regions are those who want independence. "The West Papua National Committee (KNPB), the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), the Papuan People's Petition (PEP) always sell provocative issues regarding the rejection of Otsus and DOB on Papuan land," he explained.
Yonas added that the formation of special autonomy and new autonomous regions (DOB) in Papua is a national strategic program based on people's aspirations.
"Otsus and new autonomous regions are the key to accelerating prosperity and development evenly," said Yonas.
