Village Heads in Papua Take Village Funds to Help KKB Papua, Give Rp150 Million to Buy Ammunition

Efforts by the joint military and police apparatus to uncover donors for the Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) continue.

Recently, a team from the Papuan Police arrested the head of the Wusi village with the initials TL, who was suspected of being a donor to the purchase of ammunition for the Papuan KKB.

So far, TL is suspected of being a contributor to funds for the Papuan KKB in the Kenyam District, Nduga Regency.

The arrest of TL is an extension of the arrest of an ASN person in Nduga Regency with the initials AN at the end of last June.

From the investigation carried out by the police, TL allegedly handed over Rp 150 million to AN for the purchase of ammunition for the Papuan KKB.

The police who received this information immediately conducted an investigation and finally arrested TL on Thursday (4/8/2022).

Quoted from Tribun-Papua.com, Direskrimum Polda Papua Kombes Faizal Ramadhani said the role of TL was revealed after investigators examined AN.

"He gave Rp 150 million voluntarily, it was from village funds," said Faizal in Jayapura, Monday (8/8/2022).

Investigators have flown TL to the Yalimo Police Station for further investigation.

The village head in Nduga Regency has been named a suspect in the case.

"We have arrested the village head of Wusi (initials) TL because he is suspected of being a donor," said Faizal.

Other donors wanted

Faizal stated that there were three village officials who allegedly gave money to AN to buy ammunition.

The total money collected for the purchase of the ammunition is around Rp. 450 million.

"So there are still two village officials that we are looking for, they are different districts from the TL," he said.

Previously, Yalimo Police personnel arrested an Nduga Regency ASN with the initials AN, in Elelim District, for carrying 615 rounds of ammunition, Wednesday (29/6/2022).

The arrests began with the observation of officers who suspected AN's movements while driving a two-wheeled vehicle.

"After being intercepted and searched, a number of evidences were found, namely AFN-made weapons and a number of 615 rounds of ammunition," said Director of Criminal Investigation at the Papua Police, Kombes Faizal Ramadhani, in Jayapura, Thursday (30/6/2022).

Then on July 2, 2022, the police arrested T in Jayapura.

T allegedly sold 160 rounds of ammunition to AN. After that, Pomdam XVII/Cenderawasih secured BI's Kopda and TJR's Koptu because they were suspected of being involved in the case.
