The Manokwari Branch of the Health Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) awarded the 'Universal Health Coverage' (UHC) award to the Manokwari Regency Government which was ranked first.
Head of BPJS Kesehatan Manokwari Branch Deny Jermy Eka Putra Mase said that the Manokwari Regency Government has supported the National Health Insurance Program - Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS) in which more than 95 percent have participated in the program.
"From 2017-2019 it has always received an award from President Joko Widodo and was ranked third. Today, praise God, Manokwari is in first place," Deny said in Manokwari, Tuesday.
Deny said that simultaneously the new BPJS Health management would be better because residents did not have to wait up to 14 days. BPJS Health management can be completed in a day because of the award.
However, Deny reminded that there are still a number of jobs to be completed, namely improving health services at both the first and advanced levels.
"We are trying to reduce the level of complaints from the community which has been happening so far and at this time of course we also have to improve starting from facilities and infrastructure as well as human resources," said Deny.
Manokwari Regional Secretary Henri Sembiring who received the UHC Award said that the award received by the Manokwari Regency Government had raised awareness of the importance of working together in maintaining and maintaining health together. Health care is not only the responsibility of the government but also a shared responsibility.
"Our hard work together with Manokwari Regency has reached a percentage of 97.3 of the total population covered by the JKN-KIS program and will continue to be committed to ensuring public health insurance through the signing of a work plan commitment," explained Henri.
The Manokwari Regency Government, continued Henri, has committed to improving the quality of health services by issuing the Manokwari Regent's Instruction Number 9 of 2022 which contains the duties and functions of the related OPD.
He expressed his appreciation to the OPD who supported the JKN-KIS program and hoped that the synergy with BPJS Health would continue so that all people in Papua can experience a healthy and prosperous life so that they can contribute to development.
