The 77th Indonesian Independence Anniversary Carnival was held in Nduga-Papua



The Nduga Regency Government, Papua Province, held a carnival to celebrate the 77th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in order to foster a sense of nationalism and patriotism to the people of the region.

"We are holding the 77th Independence Day carnival of the Republic of Indonesia by traveling around the Kenyam District, where this is the first time this has been carried out," said Acting Regent of Nduga Namia Gwijangge in a statement in Jayapura, Friday (12/8).

He explained that the carnival was a sign to remember the services of the heroes who had fought to achieve and maintain independence and even sacrificed themselves so that now the next generation can enjoy independence which is the result of the hard work of the fighters.

"Our spirit is not to lose to the fighters, so let's maintain this unity and instill love for the country," he said.

The activity was attended by the forkopimda of Nduga Regency, while the carnival participants included elementary, middle and high school students as well as ASN, TNI/Police and various parties in Nduga Regency. "Everyone is very enthusiastic about participating in the activity," he said.

He added that besides that, there were also other activities such as football, volleyball, ball competitions and several other competitions.
