Yapis College of Social and Political Sciences (IISIP) Biak Numfor Regency, Papua, sent 11 students to take part in the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) Program to various universities throughout Indonesia.
"MBKM is here to encourage students to have a more comprehensive learning experience through various universities outside Papua," said IISIP Chancellor Yapis Djamil Hasyim in Biak, Thursday.
He said the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) policy could be followed by all students from both state universities and private universities in the country.
According to the Chancellor of IISIP Djamil, students who want to take part in the MBKM Program must follow the selection stage to see their sincerity and national insight.
"Then after graduating, MBKM Program students will carry out their duties according to the assigned division," he said.
Djamil advised students who run the MBKM Program to adapt well, and be able to increase capacity, creativity and integrity.
"Equally important is how students can provide exemplary values, manners and discipline in the place of participating in an independent study at an independent campus," he added.
Djamil considered this activity very useful in increasing the capacity of graduates and also beneficial for local governments in tackling education problems.
"Students participating in the MBKM Program also feel the positive impact of the implementation of participating in the independent campus learning program," he said.
Eleven IISIP Yapis Biak students participated in the MBKM program at various universities in the cities of Surabaya, Makassar and Padang, West Sumatra.
In the 2021/2022 academic year, the number of IISIP Yapis Biak students was 760 students divided into seven study programs.
