Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko was furious with the shooting and massacre of civilians by the Armed Criminal Group or KKB in Papua. According to the former TNI commander, the KKB's actions were heinous, barbaric, and contrary to human values. "KKB uses the guise of the Papuan people's struggle, even though it is more to gain material benefits for the group," said Moeldoko at The Westin Hotel, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Moeldoko said that since the beginning of 2022 until this month, KKB has committed 18 crimes. Their actions have resulted in the death of 22 people. "This group also in 2018 killed employees of the BUMN Istaka Karya in Nduga and beheaded civilians in Koroway," said Moeldoko.

According to him, the KKB is taking extreme measures at this time because they are afraid of the achievements of development in Papua. Because if the development program is successful, the group is worried that their influence in society will be lost. Moeldoko said the government would take firm action against KKB through law enforcement.

He guarantees that firm action will only be directed at the KKB, not the general public. "This affirmation is important so that there is no wrong perception of the actions of the security forces that will be carried out," said Moeldoko.

Earlier on Saturday, July 16, 2022, the KKB group led by Egianus Kogoya shot a resident in Nogolaid, Nduga Regency, Papua. As a result, 11 people died. The 10 names of civilians who died as a result of being attacked by the KKB are Pastor Elias Serbaye (54 years old), Yulius Watu (23 years old), Habertus Goti (41 years old), Daenk Maramli (41 years old), Taufan Amir (42 years old), Johan (26 years old). years), Alex (45), Yuda Hurusinga, Has Jon, (41), Sirajudi (27), and Roy Manampiring (42).

The victims of the KKB were evacuated to the Kenyam Health Center for treatment. After identification, the bodies of the victims were returned to their respective hometowns.
