As many as 12 sons and daughters from Mimika, Papua, who received scholarships from the seventh batch of Pangansari Utama (PSU) were immediately accepted and worked at PT Pangansari Utama in the PT Freeport Indonesia area. They had previously been sent to study for three years at vocational schools in Jayapura and Surabaya.
PSU as one of the privatized companies of PT Freeport Indonesia which has graduated 72 Papuan children to study in tourism and culinary schools. This year, 12 people graduated from the Catholic Vocational School of Mater Amalibis Suarabaya and SMK Negeri 1 Parwisata Jayapura.
This year also PSU returned to school 14 people and is the eighth generation (VIII). The graduation ceremony for class VII and the release of class VIII of the PSU Freeport area Papua scholarship program for 2022 took place at the Horison Diana Hotel, Timika, Friday, July 8, 2022.
In the event, the Director of HR of the Pangasari Group, Avi Prananta, said that the real gold is the nation's next generation.
"These golden generations will still be around and be proud," said Avi, Friday, July 8, 2022.
Meanwhile, the Chef Operating Officer (COO) of PSU PT Pangansari Utama Freeport Area, Richard Vincent Daguise, was proud that PSU could contribute to advancing Papuan children.
"I am proud, congratulations to those who will depart, being away from their parents is not easy but seizing this golden opportunity that not everyone can get," he said.
The release of the eighth batch of students was marked by the pinning of the PSU alma mater jacket. Meanwhile, the 12 students who have now graduated and are accepted to work at the PT Pangansari Utama jobsite are marked by the wearing of chef clothes by the Human Resources Director of PT Pangansari Utama, Avi Pranantha and the Chief Operating Officer of PT Pangansari Utama Freeport Area, Richard Vincent Daguise.
