The Ministry of Social Affairs provided assistance as many as 15 computers at the BBPPKS Jayapura Computer Laboratory.
"The minister's message must be to provide computer training for Papuan children, so that they can have good access to this. We have made this training for elementary, middle, and high schools," said Benhur Tomi Mano, an expert at the Ministry of Social Affairs for Social Rehabilitation, in Jayapura, Tuesday (7/7). /6/2022).
According to him, 15 computer aids were used for free training and those who provided training. And the children will be tested for their abilities, so that they are proficient in using technology.
The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS) in Jayapura opened a healthy internet computer training for Papuan children. This training will be held free of charge.
Benhur said the computer training program was a follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs during a working visit in Jayapura.
"The aim is to provide education about the basic introduction of computers, using software and using the internet in a healthy and wise manner," he said.
As an expert at the Minister of Social Affairs, said Benhur, he is expected to implement this training in accordance with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs.
"So the hope is that this training can increase the capacity of Papuan children, especially in the field of information technology," said the former mayor of Jayapura.
He continued, in conducting training, the Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS) in Jayapura would collaborate with schools from elementary, junior high to high school levels.
"The activity is carried out after school and students receive 12 training sessions, further training will also invite flood disaster children in Sentani who will later live in houses from the Ministry of Social assistance," he said.
At the inauguration ceremony also invited the principal and students of SD Negeri Inpres Youtefa Abepura who will be participants in the first batch.
