The Jayapura Regency Tourism Office (Dispar) stated that it was ready to support and succeed the 6th Congress of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (KMAN) on October 24-29, 2022.
The support was conveyed by the Head of the Jayapura Regency Dispar, John Wicklif Tegai to Tribun-Papua.com, in Sentani, Thursday (9/6/2022).
"We will renovate Obhe-Obhe (traditional houses) in Jayapura Regency and so far 10 Obhes have been repaired," explained John.
He further explained that his party would also provide assistance to the community in each village where the 6th Congress of the Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (KMAN) was held.
"This means that there will be simple trainings related to services to guests, such as mattress service, how to provide food and so on," he said.
Furthermore, Dispar will also provide assistance to the community regarding the management of tourist destination packages in the village. Because it is possible, guests will visit tourist sites.
"We do this, because every guest who comes will definitely want to go to tourist attractions in Jayapura Regency, therefore we will do this assistance," he explained.
However, said Jhon, the tourism office is very ready to pick up the implementation of KMAN in Jayapura Regency in October.
For your information, the 6th Congress of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (KMAN) will be held in the Tabi Customary Area, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province with the theme Save Humans, Land, and Papua's Natural Resources.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Jayapura, Mathius Awoitauw said that around 2,000 - 2,500 indigenous communities will attend this activity from all over Indonesia.
"In this congress there are various events, such as workshops, cultural performances, exhibitions, and public dialogue," said Regent Mathius Awoitauw.
