Jayapura Regent Mathius Awoitauw said the work program and local government policies in improving the community's economy required collaboration and cooperation with other parties to carry out service tasks to the community.
It is said that the potential of Natural Resources (SDA) in Jayapura Regency such as cocoa is the mainstay of the community for economic improvement and community welfare.
"Not only local governments with their work programs, non-government parties can also collaborate in improving and advancing cocoa business in the community," said Regent Mathius in Sentani, Monday (21/3/2022).
Awoitauw said, through the Ministry of Villages of the Republic of Indonesia and a number of private parties, the potential for cocoa is encouraged to continue producing.
"There are village business entities in every village, their operations do not have to follow the rules or systems that exist in the government, they can also apply the business principles of the private sector," he explained.
Meanwhile, Theophilus Tegay, Head of the Jayapura Regency Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) said his party would concentrate on cocoa production in Jayapura Regency.
This is synergized with the supporting facilities that are already available, and the availability of raw materials directly from the farmers. In addition, the production center received input from BPOM regarding the arrangement and supervision.
"Of course there is a synergy of work with other technical agencies such as the Department of Plantation, Agriculture and MSMEs. So that the management process is not only based in production centers, but also in the community, through business groups formed in each village," he said.
