Wilmar Gresik sends cooking oil to Papua to support the government

PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia (WINA) Gresik Regency, East Java sent 26,400 liters of cooking oil to Papua, to support the government's program to reduce cooking oil prices with the highest retail price (HET) of Rp. 14,000 per liter.

The Business Unit Head of PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, Ridwan Brande in Gresik, Tuesday said the distribution of cooking oil directly to Papua was carried out in cooperation with the TNI using a Hercules aircraft, from Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo.

Ridwan said that currently the scarcity of cooking oil does not only occur in Java, but in almost all provinces in Indonesia.

"For that we are working with the TNI and KPN Corp to send cooking oil directly to Papua," said Ridwan.

Ridwan explained that previously the distribution of cooking oil was carried out using ship transportation modes, with an estimated distance of 15 to 30 days.

However, due to the current urgency, Wilmar finally distributed cooking oil by air, with a total of 26,400 liters.

"Due to urgent conditions, due to the scarcity of cooking oil, distribution is carried out using a Hercules aircraft belonging to the Indonesian Air Force," he said, explaining.

PT WINA Human Resources (HR) and Public Relations Manager, Hartono Subeki said, previously Wilmar also distributed cooking oil to various areas in Java and Sumatra, as a commitment to support the government's program of one price cooking oil.

"Even though the price of raw materials is currently fluctuating, we continue to market our products in accordance with the regulations set by the government," he said.

Hartono emphasized that until today, Wilmar's cooking oil production is still running normally, reaching 50 thousand to 70 thousand tons per month. This figure is in accordance with the company's installed capacity or maximum capacity.
