Bank Indonesia Papua Province Representative in collaboration with Lantamal X organized vaccinations and socialization of the digital payment system through QRIS.
Head of Bank Indonesia Papua Representative, Juli Budi Winantya said, payments through QRIS are to be connected to each other so that people can transact quickly, easily, cheaply, safely and reliably.
Juli said, the trend of digitization and the Covid-19 pandemic has also affected the foundations of the economy, changed the transaction patterns of both individuals and corporations, and changed the conventional business order, including in the financial, banking and government sectors.
"Until December 2021, there are around 102,000 merchants who have used QRIS in the Papua region and will continue to be increased in collaboration with Payment System Service Providers," said Juli after the activity, Monday, February 21, 2022.
He mentioned that the Proudly Made in Indonesia Movement (GBBI) and Cinta Proud Paham Rupiah (CBP) were not only in the aspect of non-cash development, Bank Indonesia continued to pursue various programs in accelerating public understanding.
Where, continued Juli, GBBI is a national movement that aims to make Indonesian people love and use the work of the nation's children, especially local MSME products.
"One of the forms is through the MSME showcase, by presenting MSMEs that are engaged in various sectors ranging from craft, culinary and retail. By implementing non-cash payments, these MSMEs have been registered as QRIS merchants," he said.
He hopes that through these activities and outreach, Lantamal X can become BI's partner in increasing the understanding of Cinta Proud Paham Rupiah in the community, and encouraging the use of QRIS, including as an alternative payment at Lantamal.
"With this event, we must remain optimistic that economic growth will continue, one of which is by continuing to support local MSMEs and shopping for domestic products (Proud to be Made in Indonesia)," he concluded.
