Serogo Walela, Chairman of the ULMWP Action Committee for the Lapago Region, assessed that the struggle for the liberation of Papua cannot be carried out solely by relying on the central role of an activist. According to him, taking action to launch the main agenda must be accompanied by the strength that is built together.
“This ideal belongs to the Papuan people as a whole, not just to a person or a group. So we can't fight alone."
Walela revealed that this effort is still the main obstacle that is actually happening, he explained that there is an ego-centric factor that was deliberately built by KNPB as a wing of the political struggle organization.
“This selfish feeling was raised by a number of organizations that felt the most self-righteous (KNPB), even things like that were deliberately transmitted to new members who joined. So until now the actions that have been taken have always failed because we have never been united,"
Regarding his statement, Walela also criticized the model of action carried out by the KNPB under the leadership of Agus Kossay. According to him, the KNPB never recorded success, especially when Victor Yeimo had to be in a detention cell.
“You can't hide the role of Victor Yeimo, even though he is only a spokesman but he has a clear mission. Even at the level of the chairman alone is not able to bring the organization to the better, in recent times I believe that the KNPB is experiencing a setback, "
The delay in the struggle process led by Agus Kossay became complicated when Victor Yeimo had not yet come to light regarding his release. Although several parties have urged law enforcement officials to release Victor, according to one Papuan leader, this is difficult to happen.
"You can't just release them, of course, this pressure has the potential to violate legal provisions. Victor is the perpetrator and the mastermind of the riot, he must be able to take responsibility for his actions," said Franz Korwa in his quote.
However, Korwa suspected that the pressure to release Victor Yeimo was only spontaneous, furthermore, Korwa emphasized that the action was only limited to a weak will.
“Actually, people at KNPB have forgotten about Victor Yeimo, remember he was arrested since May last year. Why does it seem as if there are only now such actions? In my opinion, the KNPB is no longer solid,"
